So, I’m still hacking around in Safari. If you read earlier article, you might remember my complaint about the fonts being a bit blurry. Well, in my wandering around the Apple discussion boards, someone was nice enough to post an interesting article on the philosophical differences between Apple and Microsoft.
I was looking to try out Safari on Windows the other day, but all the links to get it were down. Now I know why! Apple released Safari for Windows today. Well, not one to wait around, I promptly downloaded it to give it a spin. In fact, I’m writing this article in it right now.
Due to issues I’ve been having with ImageShack, I’ve moved some of my userbars over to Flickr. So far, things appear to be working just fine.
Interestingly, an Australian firm is offering a USB drive encased in a LEGO® brick. I just have to say that “I want one!” They look too cool and, of course, very geeky! If you haven’t noticed, I'm a big Lego® Bricks fan. Unfortunately, 50 bucks seems a bit steep. Maybe I should hollow out some of my own bricks and build my own. Hummm...might be worth trying.
For those people that feel a little “less gifted” when trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube, along comes the Idiot’s Cube.
While playing around with Live!, I ran across a web site where someone created a LEGO Rubik’s Cube. They have some pretty interesting pictures, including a movie. Unfortunately, it is very big and doesn’t appear to move very well. If it was smaller, I might try to make my own.
Your Xbox 360 has a voice, and now it can have one on your WebAPP site as well!
Darn it, I lost my gaming streak after a paltry 32 days. 🙁 My Internet was down part of the day last week. Either that, or I just totally spaced it. Either way, I’ve started over again. Sigh. So much for trying to get that 50+ badge on my 360voice Blog.
Well, I’ve been using 360voice for awhile now. It is the site that creates the Xbox 360 blogs. So, I thought I’d whip up a Userbar for the site.
Well, it took me just over a month, but I was finally able to find the time to get 1500 pts and complete the Old Spice Challenge on Xbox Rewards. Looks like I’ll receive 4 rewards though—that is pretty cool—assuming I wasn’t too late to receive them.
So, obviously I’m a bit Lego fan. So, I was surprised—although I shouldn’t have been—that people have been re-creating their favorite consoles in Lego form. I ran across a Joystiq article that shows a pretty nice rendition of a Wii using Lego bricks.
Although the default icons that come with WebAPP are nice, I thought I’d try to create a few original ones. I’ve tried to update most (but not quite all) of the icons that I have categories using pictures from from collection.

Well, if you didn’t know already, Microsoft is now promoting Xbox Rewards. If you take on the challenge, you get rewards. Sweet right? Yeah, assuming you can get on the site.

Sigh. Another day, another bug. Seems that writing scripts for my theme meant that I was missing some issues that occur if you run Blog Calendar on a standard WebAPP install. So, here is the latest fix for your Blogging pleasure: Blog Calendar Mod
Darn, I hate it when I miss simple issues. Two more bug fixes in this release. First, the wrong year was being passed when pulling articles. The second one was that I wasn’t properly translating 2 digit years passed as arguments.

Oops! I had a minor bug in the current month display. A bad assumption on my part that was easily corrected. You can download the lastest version from here. If you are running R2, you just need to update the blogcal.cgi file.

Well, after spending a few months adding back in my slide show and calendar, I’ve converted my site to WebAPP NE. Please let me know if anything doesn’t work quite right. My main reason to convert to WebAPP was to not have to start from scratch in writing my own comments system.
I’ve updated the Blog Calendar Mod to revision 2. It includes the two calendar option and fixes some bugs I found while cleaning up the code.
Sorry if you aren’t from Boise or a football fan, but Boise State University won the Fiesta Bowl game today against Oklahoma University. Final score was 42 to 41 in overtime. It was a hell of a nail biter and the best football game I’ve watched! Go BSU!
