I’ve changed out my back-end Perl scripts using WebAPP — Web Automated Perl Portal System. The task of writing my own scripts to allow comments, article management, and all the security around them seemed more effort then I had time. After playing with a few other systems, I’ve settled on WebAPP. It has a good feature set and, above all, an active community of developers. As much as I like hacking at my own scripts, its much more fun to have others to bounce ideas off.

I have my site working pretty well. I’ve been able to get the title page and article pages to validate as XHTML. Yeah! 😃 Now I just need to convert my slide show and calendar applications over. There is a gallery and events calendar already included with WebAPP.

Oh, so much fun! 😎
