Celebrating 40 Years of Dune (1984)

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the 1984 Dune movie, a film that still holds a special place in my heart. Don’t get me wrong—I thoroughly enjoy Denis Villeneuve’s stunning adaptations, and I admire how he’s brought Frank Herbert’s world to life for a new generation. But for me, the original remains unique. It’s tied to so many of my childhood memories and the passions I cultivated during those years.


E.T. Redux

E.T. MC, Finding a Flower, 2012 by Steven Reid

E.T. may not have been my best game ever, but it was an interesting exercise in 1985. Loosely, and I really mean loosely, based on the Atari 2600 game, E.T. follows the exploits of the title character as he tries to find his way home. Originally written in ZX81 BASIC, I revisited E.T. to better understand how to use MCODER II. I was ultimately successful in compiling it and getting it to run. Fly Me To The Moon Soundtrack

I uploaded a slightly longer version of the “Fly Me To the Moon” song to ACIDplanet.com. It isn’t much of a soundtrack since there is only one song. I created this version first but it was too long for the animation. The shorter version in the video was an edited remix of this one.
