Floating House in LEGO

Floating House in LEGO by Steven Reid

Meandering around Flickr, I ran across a picture of Floating cube houses Havneby Rømø island Denmark by Arkitema Architects. With black walls and expansive glass windows, the design was striking. Inspired by the modern lines, I pictured how they might look in LEGO bricks. Below is the result of me acting on that inspiration.

21009 Farnsworth House

21009 Farnsworth House

I actually started 21009 Farnsworth House before my last model, but made the mistake of rendering it on my older desktop. It took over a week to render due to the glass and higher anti-alias requirements. I should try this on my daughter’s iMAC to see if how fast it renders with a newer computer.

Mind the Gap

I haven’t been updating much on the site lately. Mostly it is because I’ve been busy with other activities. My daughter’s Softball games still dominate most of my evenings. Between games, the youngest had a school concert on Tuesday. I’ve been trying squeeze in some GTAIV or HALO3 in the later evenings, but that doesn’t always work out.
